Reiki Columbus Ohio

Reiki is probably the most well known Energy Healing method in the US.

The reason for this is that Reiki is fairly easy to get an attunement for each of the first two levels with a week-end class.  No previous experience with energy healing is necessary.  Over 1 million people in the USA have received this ability transferred from Master Reiki teacher to student, so that they use Reiki on themselves or others as a healing modality.  Practitioners of Reiki often feel a deep sense of relaxation and healing.  The work is subtle and nourishing.

While I personally enjoy Reiki Treatments, I have found that there are many other schools of energy therapy out there that are quite supportive to the healing process as well.  After researching, I decided to attend the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. It is a 4 year college program based in Florida founded on the work of Dr. Barbara Brennan, author of the books, “Hands of Light” and “Light Emerging”.  It was there that I studied and eventually taught this amazing transformational work. Because I could see the benefits of Energy Therapy as well as working a program to help the Awakening process,  I then studied the advance course for an additional 4 years. I soaked all of it in so that I could share these techniques with others.  Brennan Healing Science® is a comprehensive program that teaches students to become compassionate healers to serve others on their path. And now- I like to incorporate this healing modality into my Craniosacral Therapy and Structural Integration sessions.  It is a gentle hands-on healing process that has helped thousands of people across the world.

In addition to Reiki, Brennan Healing Science®,  while I was living in Florida, my friend Joann Rahl, introduced me to the http://www.seraphimblueprint.com.  At first I didn’t think that is would be much with all my other training.  But I still went, and was pleasantly surprised.  It felt wonderful to sit in and receive the energetic initiations.  I felt new frequencies opened up that I have added to my healing work through intention.

While this has been my path in studying and implementing energy healing, there are many other schools that are second generation, and are very appropriate to healing what is going on now here on earth.

I will say,  that my experience has shown me over and over that we are energy being, with human energy fields.  When we can align our auric fields, we can find deeper balance and move through life more effortlessly.

If you have an interest in Energy Healing,  please go out and investigate.  There is something waiting to help you open up the door.

Blessings,

Myofascial Release Can Help You Feel Alive!

Myofascial Release has helped many of my clients to feel revitalized and more alive!

Yes, those membranes that contain, wrap around and support all the material in the human body are key in helping you to let go of dysfunctional patterns that keep your energy limited.

Myofascial Release is a holistic treatment that focuses on finding those tight restrictive areas of the body that keep pain internalized.  By listening with our hands, fascial therapists can find those difficult places in the more superficial outer layers to deep inside at the core.  By focusing on improving posture through releasing the fascia, the body can relax and find optimal efficiency in fluidity of movement.

Myofascial Release

When you feel better in your body, everything in your life changes.  Your outlook brightens and the way that you interact with your world feels more positive.
Some of the symptoms that have been relieved through fascial work are:
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Menstrual Pain
  • Pelvic Floor Tightness
  • Sports Injuries
  • Jaw Pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Neurological Disorders
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • TMJ and other Jaw Pain
  • Carpel Tunnel
  • Bad Posture

Myofascial Work can be approached with light touch to a deeper more penetrating contact.  It’s up to the Myofascial Therapist to dialogue with clients to find out what level of pressure best suits the session.  Sometimes as a physical restriction is addressed, the response can be painful even with only 5 grams of pressure.  So make sure that you communicate what your level of feeling into sensation is to your therapist.  Because if you tighten up in reaction, that is counter-productive. The best work is all about Myofascial Release.

What is so great about Myofascial Release is that once the restriction dissolves, it’s gone.  Yet other layers must be addressed if you want a whole body approach to healing.  It’s best to talk to your Therapist about a series of sessions to unwind or help the body let go of tension patterns.  It often takes years or a trauma to bring the body out of balance.  Patience, feeling with awareness and letting go can change your life if you give it a chance!

Chronic Back Pain? Help is Available in Columbus Ohio.

It takes years to find yourself in chronic back pain.

Many people think back pain comes from pulling a certain muscle or moving wrong. Most likely your structural alignment has been out for a while and your muscle groups are not balanced.  Back pain is born through the way that we habitually move our bodies and the consequences of our physical action then take on certain rotations, contractions and dysfunctional patterns.  When the back begins to spasm,  that is usually the tip of the iceberg that lets you know that you need help in healing prolonged unhealthy postural patterns.

Build a Holistic Plan to relieve back pain for overall health and wellbeing.

I know…I know… that most people want to find a “fix” and feel better immediately when their backs hurt.  Who wants to live with back pain?

It is possible to go in for a massage session, a few physical therapy appointments, see a chiropractor or to get a prescription from your medical doctor to ease the pain.  These can all be helpful.  However,  is this what is going to help you live pain free in the future?

When any illness or pain calls you to bed, it is helpful to take the time to inquire into your self-care.  Ask yourself,  “How am I eating?”,  “Am I sleeping well?l”, “Do I get enough exercise?”, and “Am I dong whatever I need to do to feel healthy and vital?”  Do you realize the importance of putting your health first?

With our busy lifestyles, there are not many people who can answer yes to all of these.  So if you want to feel better, it is important to begin to prioritize your health.  And realize- that it took you some time to get into illness and/or pain and it may take a commitment to long-term exploration to re-connect to your wellness.

As a Craniosacral Therapy bodywork and healer,  I do get a lot of people who come in for one or two sessions and they do get relief for sure.  It’s easy to move into the back  fascial tissues and relieve the tension there. The clients are happy for a while.  But whatever relief you get there is most likely temporary, even with fascial work when it is only applied locally.  From my perspective after 15 years in the business of relieving pain, in order to feel health success, the people who dedicate themselves to a comprehensive health plan are the ones who walk away pain free longterm and able to do the things that excite them.  Clients who are proactive and even those who come in after an injury benefit best when they value their own health enough to do whatever it takes to find alignment on all the levels of their wellness. When we change our thoughts and bodies,we change the way we experience life.

So if you are facing chronic back pain, allow that be a signal to you that it would be a smart idea to holistically set your intention to creating a “health plan” to get better overall.  Clean up your diet, decrease your stress,  find an experience bodywork and commit to some long term goals to improve your sense of wellbeing. If you don’t care about your health, who will?

Life styles are based on the choices we make day in and day out.  We are creatures of habit, so start slow and make small decisions that are easy to change.  This is not an all or nothing situation unless you are very ill.  You’ll be surprised if you pace yourself and find the right support team how much better you will feel!
